Nothing quite says New Year’s like a fabulous sequin dress. For this look we recommend a t-shirt style dress fully covered in sequins; rose gold or silver are great colour choices. We love one that is a bit shorter in length to accomplish a fun and flirty look. Since this look is pretty bold and you don’t want the outfit to become too overwhelming we suggest pairing this look with neutral accessories such as a black clutch.
If you aren’t much of a dress girl, another great idea for a New Years outfit is a leather look appealing to those who want to rock something with a bit of edge. This can be accomplished by wearing a fitted lace top tucked into a pair of high-waisted leather leggings. Since this look is a bit more casual we suggest dressing it up with a statement necklace and a pair of heels in silver or gold adding a pop of sparkle to the look. Or if you want to fully commit to that New Year’s sparkle swap out the lace top for a sequin one. Either way, the great advantage of this look is that it is comfortable, but still has you looking like you are ready to party.
Belle of the Ball
This look is the perfect choice if your New Year’s plans are a bit fancier and requires formal wear. The shining star of this look is going to be a floor length gown. If you can find one with some sparkle, even better. If you opt for a neutral colour gown, such as black or grey, we suggest finding one that has a unique feature taking your look from fundraiser gala to New Year’s ready. This can be accomplished with a dress that has cut-out sides, a plunging neckline or even a high leg slit. It is best to find your dress before your shoes because you will want a pair of heels that are high enough to ensure your dress isn’t dragging on the ground. There is nothing more annoying then spending the whole night worried you’re going to trip on your dress.
Stylin’ Skirt Wearing Senorita
Wearing a skirt on New Year’s Eve is great because, like the leather look, you can keep the pieces of this outfit to wear again and again. If you are looking to wear a skirt this New Year’s you can go one of two ways. The first is accomplished by pairing a tutu with a black or white crop top, giving off an urban ballerina vibe. To stay true to the ballerina look you can wear your hair up in a messy bun or if you desire a bit more glam style wear your hair in loose waves.
The second way you can rock a skirt will have you showing off your great curves in a well-fitted gold or silver pencil skirt paired with a silk white top. The best part of this look is you likely already have a top in your wardrobe that will do the trick. Want to add a bit of edge to this outfit throw on a moto style leather jacket. Accessorize this combo with a choker and a pair of stilettos because it’s New Years, and why not!
