The leaves are changing and the days are getting shorter, which can only mean our favourite fashion season is here! While we all love the Fall staples, whether it be a chunky sweater, plaid skirt, or a pair of booties, there are so many new Fall trends this year that we are excited about. Even better, consignment is a great option to take a fashion risk and give the newest trends a try without having to make a huge investment. We have outlined our top three favourite trends this season for both men and women.

FOR THE LADIES
Neon, Neon, and More Neon
Gone are the days where bright colours are only appropriate for the warmer months. Wearing neon this Fall is the perfect way to diversify a wardrobe typically dominated by neutrals. We absolutely love fully committing to this trend by picking a neon piece to be the focal piece of your outfit; may it be a hot pink mini dress or a bright lime bodysuit paired with your favourite distressed jeans. If you’re not ready to take the full neon plunge, you can always add a pop of colour with a bright bag or belt.
Things Are Getting Wild
May it be snake, leopard, or even zebra, animal print may just be the biggest comeback of 2019. Our absolute favorite way to rock some animal print is in skirt form. Grab a snake print leather mini skirt and pair it with a chunky sweater, some bordeaux coloured tights and your favourite heeled booties to incorporate animal print in a way that isn’t too overwhelming.
Maybe It Is My Boyfriend’s Blazer
The oversize blazer has been in for the past couple seasons often seen on celebs like Rihanna or Kendall Jenner worn as a dress with knee high boots. But this year the oversize blazer is back but with an 80s influence. That’s right girls, shoulder pads are back (!) and we are kind of loving it (we know…we’re shocked too). When giving this trend a whirl, we recommend pairing the oversize blazer with a well fitted top and skinny jeans, or a pencil skirt, to ensure you to still look put together.
FOR THE GENTS
Real Men Wear Pink
That’s right; neon isn’t just for the ladies this year. Many of the designers for men were seen featuring hot pink in their Fall/Winter 2019 collections. Our favourite? A full hot pink suit styled with a white shirt and black oxfords. Pink on pink not your thing? Why not incorporate pink into your wardrobe in a less extreme way with a sweater or tie instead.
Sling Bags
Move over fanny packs, the sling bag is the number one men’s accessory this season. Worn across the chest a sling bag is not only stylish, but also practical for the modern man. Numerous brands from Patagonia to Prada have recently come out with a sling bag, meaning no matter your budget, you can give this trend a try. We suggest incorporating this accessory as a part of your favourite athleisure look.
Denim As a Layer
The denim jacket has been a fashion staple for men for ages, but this year we are seeing this piece styled a little differently. This Fall, a hot trend is styling a denim jacket as a layering piece under other outerwear such as a wool jacket or your favourite sport coat. What we love about this trend is that it allows you to continue wearing your denim jacket into the colder months.
