1) How would you describe your personal style?

I would say my style is best described by saying it’s comfortable and flattering. I work in an orchestra, so I don’t like wearing clothing that is in any way restricting or too tight. Leggings are a staple in my everyday wardrobe. I like pairing a dress with a scarf or cardigan with leggings – it’s comfortable and looks good as well!

2) What influence does fashion have in your every day life?

Honestly, you can probably tell what mood I’m in by what I’m wearing. If  I’m wearing a lot of baggy clothing, I’m probably not doing so well, haha. However, if I’m wearing a flattering dress or outfit, I’m probably feeling on top of my game.

3) What tip can you give someone who has not yet experienced consignment shopping?

Look through everything! There are some gems. Also, if you’re looking for something specific, ask whoever is working there since they personally handle all the clothing items and will know if they have what you need.

4) What do you consider the most important essential pieces in a wardrobe?

In my wardrobe; leggings, cardigans and scarves. That way you can pair almost anything with that.

5) What’s your favourite piece that you bought consignment shopping?

My favourite piece I’ve bought from a consignment store were these black “French Connection” booties. I perform in them; they’re so classy and comfortable. I get compliments about them all the time.

6) What do you like about SalvEdge Boutique and consignment shopping?

I love how at SalvEdge the prices are so reasonable, and I love going through the “employees top picks”; since you guys all have such good taste, I find most of what I buy in those racks.

All clothing and accessories from the 17th Avenue location. 113, 1013 17th Ave SW (across from Cibo)

1) How would you describe your personal style?

I describe my personal style as intentionally practical. It widely ranges throughout my days, depending on the multiple roles I take on each day. However, my style serves as an expression of my active, focused, energetic, ever evolving lifestyle. And just as my lifestyle evolves, so too does my style into the seasons of my years.

2) What influence does fashion have in your every day life?

Fashion is an expression in my every day life. It allows me to set the tone of each day, or segment of a day, sets my focus, and gears me up to anything I am striving for that day. It influences my mood, attitude, and above all, confidence to attract what I truly desire.

3) What tip can you give someone who has not yet experienced consignment shopping?

Shop consistently! There are so many gems in consignment stores, and consistent shopping, within your budget, is the key to finding them. Plus, you can be so inspired in consignment stores and when you utilize that inspiration, design happens.

4) What do you consider the most important essential pieces in a wardrobe?

It really depends on the wardrobe, however, in my own wardrobe black leggings, as you can dress these up, down, and all around; a black tee or sweater (sheer or plain, as these can accompany almost any bottom); a black skirt, as it can accompany almost any top; a black dress, as it guarantees any date night a success; a cover of some sort; and either a pair of pumps or knee high boots. These are the top essentials of my wardrobe, but there are so many more vital pieces and accessories.

5) What’s your favourite piece that you bought consignment shopping?

Quite serendipitous, a wide floppy brim felt bowler fedora, which actually turned out to be one of my yoga teachers, who happened to be the one to sell it to me that day.

6) What do you like about SalvEdge Boutique and consignment shopping?

I like SalvEdge’s edge in style and quality, and I like the salvaging in consignment shopping. It is really that simple!
